Lump and Bump in York, ME 7.25.2015
The entrance to York harbor always holds interest for me. More often then not, something is happening. Such was the case as 5 of us headed out on the ebb into a forecast of 5-10kt winds from the northeast and 2 foot waves. Immediately around the bend, wind against waves created some not insignificant standing waves, allowing for a bit of a play. For those not interested, a nice eddy just beyond Rocks Nose provided a good viewing spot.

Beyond the standing waves, Blacks Rocks offered a chance for many in the group to push their rock play limits.

After a bit of play, we headed out of the harbor long Long Beach and up to Nubble Light, lunching at Sohier Park under the curious eyes of the many tourists that had congregated to view the light house.

After lunch, we took advantage of the following seas to surf towards York Harbor, eventually going back to playing in the rocks at Banks Rock with a bit more play back at Blacks Rock before riding the flood back to the put in.

An excellent day.
